YMCA STRONG KIDS ANNUAL CAMPAIGN

JANUARY 23 TO MARCH 20, 2013

OUR GOAL: $650,000

At the YMCA, we are dedicated to providing quality, life enriching experiences for all in our community regardless of financial circumstance.  Each year, thanks to the community's generous support of the Strong Kids Annual Campaign, we are able to provide financial assistance to economically challenged children and their families, adults, and seniors so they can participate in YMCA programs and services.

With your help, we can continue to fulfill this mission and reach out to more in our community who need our support in 2013.  Please join us in our efforts to make YMCA programming accessible to our neighbors in need by making a charitable donation to your YMCA family branch this year.  Several payment options are available including monthly bank and credit card draft.  Visit us online or stop by the member service desk to make your pledge today.

Thank you for your support!

YMCA BUFFALO NIAGARA NAMES NEW CEO

VETERAN Y EXECUTIVE TO SUCCEED

LONG-TIME CEO JOHN MURRAY

YMCA Buffalo Niagara would like to welcome Olin B. "Buddy" Campbell, Jr. as the association's new chief executive officer. Campbell will replace retiring CEO John Murray who is stepping down after serving in the position for 25 years.

Campbell, a native of Batavia, comes to Buffalo from YMCA of Greater Rochester where he worked the last 12 years, the past 11 as senior vice president/association advancement.  He was a key member of a senior leadership team that increased the Rochester Y's revenues 108 percent, membership by 165 percent, and program revenue by 67 percent. The Rochester Y is roughly double the size of the Buffalo Niagara Y.

Prior to joining the Rochester association, Campbell served more than 10 years as the Buffalo Niagara Y's chief operating officer, working hand-in-hand with Murray to turn around the association which had experienced many years of poor financial performances prior to them assuming management. Under the leadership of Murray and Campbell, the Buffalo Niagara Y achieved nine consecutive years of financial surpluses, expanded school-age child care from four sites to 41, and developed a new branch in Lancaster.

Buddy will officially assume the role of CEO on February 18, 2013.
