Membership Types
To better meet the needs of the communities we serve, several different types of membership exist.

Youth

0 - 18 years of age

Young Adult

19 - 23 years of age
Adult 24 - 59 years of age

Senior Adult

60 years of age or older

Married Couple

Any couple whose union is legally recognized by the State of New York as being in a marital relationship.

Family /Children

Any couple whose union is legally recognized by the State of New York as being in a marital relationship and all unmarried dependent children through the age of 18 and unmarried dependent children through the age 23 who are full-time students.

Individual Parent/Family

One parent and all unmarried children through the age of 23 who are full-time students.

Senior Couple

Any couple whose union is legally recognized by the State of New York as being in a marital relationship with either spouse being 60 years of age or older.

Masterkey Adult

Entitled to use any branch of the Buffalo Niagara association.

Masterkey Family

Entitled to use any branch. See family/ children membership info. for eligibility.
Masterkey Senior Entitled to use any branch of the Buffalo Niagara association.

Payment Options
The YMCA offers convenient payment options, including monthly bank draft. Credit card drafting is also available for memerships, school age child care, and camp fees. The charge will appear on your monthly statement.

In addition, a limited amount of financial assistance is available for membership and program services, and may be secured through a simple, confidential application process. All new members are subject to paying a one-time capital development/re-entry fee. These funds are used for capital improvements and equipment purchases.

Discounts for Aqua, FlexFit, and Solutions Members
Healthy Univera Plus (Univera Solutions) – Healthy Choices subscribers are covered up to $300 per calendar year for YMCA membership. Family First subscribers are covered up to $300 per calendar year for toddler/ preschool gym and swim programs or adult massage therapy. Call Univera for details.
Univera Active Anytime – Many Univera Medicare PPO or Univera SeniorChoice subscribers receive up to $40 per month
reimbursement toward membership fees. Call Univera for details.
Independent Health provides its FlexFit members up to $250 per year toward the cost of YMCA programs and services. Call
Independent Health for details.
BlueCross BlueShield of Western New York provides its Aqua subscribers $250 per year toward an individual YMCA membership of $500 per year toward a family YMCA membership. Call BlueCross BlueShield for details.
